Bobbie Ray-Sannerud, Dr. Psychol.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist originally from California and now based in Oslo, Norway, with more than 15 years of experience working with adults, children, and adolescents.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These approaches focus on helping people better understand the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behavior, while developing practical strategies to manage stress, improve well-being, and move toward what matters most in their lives.
Early in my career, I trained in neuropsychological assessment with children and adolescents, which continues to inform my work evaluating learning, attention, and developmental differences. I later completed my doctoral residency with the U.S. Air Force, where I conducted psychological assessment and treatment with service members experiencing concerns such as traumatic brain injury, trauma, sleep disorders, and mood-related difficulties.
When working with children and adolescents, I tailor interventions to the child’s age, developmental level, and individual needs. My approach may include elements of neuropsychology, play-based strategies, and a family systems perspective, meaning I work closely with parents and caregivers to support change both at home and in school.
I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Center for Veteran’s Studies at the University of Utah, where my research focused on evidence-based approaches to trauma and suicide.
I have additional training in human factors and performance psychology, applying psychological science to high-demand environments such as healthcare and aviation.
