I provide comprehensive ADHD assessments for children ages 6 and older. These evaluations are designed to understand a child’s attention, executive functioning, and related behavioral or learning concerns.

An ADHD assessment is a comprehensive evaluation that gathers information from multiple sources in order to develop an accurate understanding of a child’s strengths and challenges. The goal of the evaluation is to clarify whether ADHD may be present and to provide meaningful recommendations that can support the child at home and in school.

The evaluation typically includes:

  • A clinical interview with parents to review developmental, educational, and behavioral history

  • Standardized psychological testing that examines attention, executive functioning, and related cognitive skills

  • Behavioral rating scales completed by parents and teachers

  • Review of relevant school information when available

For children, the assessment also includes parent and teacher input, which is an important part of understanding how attention and behavior present across different settings. Questionnaires are used to compare the child’s symptoms with those of a large normative sample of children the same age, helping determine whether the behaviors fall within the expected range or may be clinically significant.

Diagnostic conclusions are made in accordance with the criteria outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM‑5) and relevant Norwegian clinical guidelines for the assessment of ADHD.

Following the evaluation, families receive a comprehensive written report summarizing the results, diagnostic impressions when appropriate, and individualized recommendations. These recommendations may include strategies for home and school, educational supports, and possible treatment options.

Please note that testing is conducted in English using standardized assessment measures developed in English, with comparison groups based on UK and U.S. normative samples.
